As Honorary President of the Bosphorus Summit Board of Trustees, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh Receives Summit’s Founding President to Discuss Next Summit Agenda

AMMAN – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global) has received in his office Mr. Cengiz Özgencil, president and founder of the International Cooperation Platform (UIP-ICP) - the entity organizing the Bosphorus Summit. The meeting discussed the agenda of the upcoming Summit, the 14th edition, at the end of this year.  

Over a full day of discussions, the two sides agreed that this year’s agenda would  include important topics such as  World Order, world leadership, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, the United Nations and its affiliated organizations, the Security Council, intellectual property, international currencies, democracy versus populism, climate change, economic sanctions, and international justice.

It was also decided that the Summit meetings would extend for two days and that all discussions would be at the level of the Conference's General Assembly rather than at separate panel sessions.

This year’s Summit will be the Fourteenth, as the International Cooperation Platform (ICP) had been holding this international event since 2009 in Istanbul without interruption, despite the restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic.Over the years the level of attendance has been significantly growing including government and private business representation from more than 70 countries. 

The Summit is concerned with all issues related to international cooperation in the fields of business and economic cooperation, and it has achieved significant and tremendous success in fostering friendly relations between countries.

The two parties also agreed that this year’s agenda would expand to include a number of important international issues that have clear implications on trade and economic cooperation among all countries of the world; particularly the international order and climate change.
