His Excellency Minister Suleiman Frangieh Hosts Dr, Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Affirms Constant Support to Digital Transformation Efforts
BNACHII, Zgharta District, Lebanon – HE Former Minister Mr. Suleiman Frangieh, the leader of the Marada Movement in Lebanon, received at his residence HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh (TAG.Global), and his accompanying delegation. The gathering was held in the presence of the Minister’s son MP Tony Frangieh, chairman of the Information Technology Committee of the Lebanese Parliament.
During the meeting, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh briefed Minister Frangieh on TAG.Global efforts in implementing Digital Transformation Strategy as approved by the Lebanese Government through agreements previously signed with Lebanon’s Council of Ministers; represented by the Ministry of State for Administrative Development, the Ministry of Labor, the National Social Security Fund, and the Lebanese University.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh referred to TAG Knowledge Stations that have been inaugurated with the aim of fighting digital illiteracy in Lebanon. He went on to stress that additional knowledge stations would be opened across all Lebanese regions to deliver information technology to various segments of the society.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh confirmed his readiness to purchase a special Internet line to provide all knowledge stations with fast and secure internet service for free in cooperation with the relevant authorities in Lebanon.
For his part, Minister Frangieh praised the efforts of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh at all levels, as well as the leading role he plays at the Arab and international arenas in the field of technology, knowledge and others. He also affirmed the necessity of cooperation with all relevant stakeholders to implement the Government’s Digital Transformation Strategy in order to launch e-government and facilitate its delivery to the community.
The meeting was attended by Chair of Group Management Board at TAG.Global, Mr. Salah Abu Osbeh, and Representative of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Culture and Media in Lebanon, Mr. Burhan Al Ashkar. That is in addition to the MENA EdTech Alliance President, Dr. Rabie Baalbaki, Vice-President of the Alliance for International Partnerships and Relations Coordinator, Ms. Nora Al-Murabi, Prof. Nadim Mansouri, and C, and Dr. Wadiha Al-Amiouni.
