TAGIUNI and UNITAR Sign Cooperation Agreement

We are honored to partner with UNITAR in providing world-class education and high quality training. We believe that the demand for quality education is growing and that online education is the best way to meet this demand. The changing paradigm to provide education is challenging, and this cooperation is an important step in establishing a strong alliance of online providers- HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh

AMMAN------ April 23, 2013------ Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University (TAGIUNI), the gateway to the world’s best education, and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) signed a cooperation agreement at TAGIUNI Regional Office in Amman, Jordan.

The agreement which was signed by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, president of TAGIUNI and Mr. Babar Kamal, manager of the Public Finance and Trade Program at UNITAR enables TAGIUNI to provide a range of online, capacity building professional programs offered by UNITAR in Public Finance, Trade, and Governance.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh stated: “We are honored to partner with UNITAR in providing world-class education and high quality training. We believe that the demand for quality education is growing and that online education is the best way to meet this demand. The changing paradigm to provide education is challenging, and this cooperation is an important step in establishing a strong alliance of online education providers.”

Mr. Kamal characterized the partnership as “strategic and timely,” stating: “This partnership is between two equals. I think this is a revolutionary and innovative partnership which will leverage the best of both our institutions in providing training and learning opportunities to a large sector of society.”

The signing ceremony was also attended by the Indian Ambassador to Jordan HE Mr. R.R. Dash who congratulated TAGIUNI on this historic signing ceremony with UNITAR, the training executing body of United Nations, stating: “Knowledge is power. This agreement is a great step forward in imparting knowledge, and it will pave the way for greater partnership and understanding.”

The importance of this cooperation stems from the rising cost of quality education around the world and the widening gap of quality providers. Reflecting the commitment of both parties to the success and sustainability of this partnership, an action plan is to be prepared to help maximize the use of the cooperation agreement.
