‘Abu-Ghazaleh Global’ Participates in ‘Open Science in the Arab Region’ Forum in Kuwait

KUWAIT – Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), represented by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global University (TAG-GU) and TAGEPEDIA Knowledge Platform, participated in the ‘Open Science in the Arab Region’ Forum, organized by the Arab Open University (AOU) under the theme ‘Future Prospects for Open Science in the Arab Region’. The Forum was held in partnership with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and in cooperation with the Kuwait National Commission for Education, Science and Culture at the University’s headquarters in Kuwait.

TAG.Global’s participation in the Forum underlines the importance of such a global gathering of experts and academics specialized in promoting open science practices, and attributed to the fact that it is considered a platform for exchanging ideas and experiences in the field of open science worldwide.

The Forum was held with the aim of reviewing local, regional, and international efforts and knowledge in advancing open science and related fields in the Arab region, providing initiatives and solutions to promote open science to bridge digital gaps, protect intellectual property rights and open licenses, and foster Arab and global cooperation in the open science domain.  

TAGEPEDIA Platform Executive Director, Mr. Ala Turaani, stated that the participation of TAG.Global’s relevant firms in the Forum was driven by the Organization’s belief in the significance of shifting to open science, especially considering the challenges the education in the Arab countries is currently facing. 

He went on to say that various ministries, institutions and educational bodies are forced today to exert further efforts to improve the level of education in general and open education in particular to meet the requirements and the necessities of sustainable development. 

It is worth mentioning that TAGEPEDIA Knowledge Platform is a platform that combines learning and training programs from the world's top universities. These programs have been categorized on the platform in a way that facilitates easy and quick access. Learning programs have been classified according to different academic degrees (PhD, Master's, Bachelor's, and Diploma). Training programs have been categorized in cooperation with specialized international institutions based on the required technical, technological, managerial, and linguistic skills.
