American University of Beirut’s Documentary Website Sheds Light on Talal Abu-Ghazaleh

Served as the University’s Student Council President in 1960

BEIRUT – The American University of Beirut (AUB) has officially launched its documentary website (https://libraries.aub.edu.lb/xtf/view?docId=campus/ark86073b3x015/ark86073b3x015.xml&externalv=1#page/102/mode/2up);  a digital platform that documents  the pivotal moments in the University's  journey, with a photo of Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), who graduated from the AUB in 1960 with honor and distinction, and then served as the University’s Student Council President.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh had started his life journey before enrolling in the University, when  he successfully managed, as a Palestinian Refugee, to achieve the top place in the Lebanese General Secondary Certificate, in order to deserve the only scholarship to study at the AUB, granted by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

While the AUB continuously celebrates its rich history and influential personalities and leaders who have graduated from its faculties, its newly-designed documentary website is considered an interactive tool for alumni and students to engage with the past and connect with the deep heritage of their University.
