Abu-Ghazaleh Joins the Advisory Committee of UNESCO Regional Center of Quality and Excellence in Education
AMMAN – HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman of the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education (AROQA), granted his approval to join the Advisory Committee of the UNESCO Regional Center of Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE) – Saudi Arabia, in response to an invitation from the Center..
In his invitation, Dr. Abdulrahman Almedaries, RCQE director general, affirmed his keenness to have Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh in the Center’s Committee to add his support to the work and activities of the RCQE, in addition to benefitting from his guidance and insights on various related issues, priorities and consultancy.
In responding to the invitation which he gladly accepted Dr. Abu Ghazaleh also extended his gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity his membership in the Advisory Committee would allow to enhance cooperation, and consolidate the active partnership between the RCQE and AROQA, to work jointly in designing and developing strategic policies and guidelines of quality education, in accordance with the best educational practices with the aim of strengthening the knowledge-based economy.
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh extended his wishes of success to the Committee in its mission, armed with its highly experienced and creative advisors, to work under the umbrella of the RCQE, to serve the community and to achieve the desired goals.
According to Almedaries the Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE) was established in 2014 under the auspice of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) by an agreement signed between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and UNESCO. Saudi Arabia’s supervision of the Center signifies its support to the UNESCO’s humanitarian mission promoting positivity in peoples’ lives, and also represents its local, regional and international commitment to ensure the “Right to Education for All”, its quality and excellent inputs as one of the cornerstones of 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The RCQE objectives also intersect with those of AROQA whose main objective is to improve the quality of education in general with a special focus on the Arab world. AROQA provides many services including quality assurance for educational institutions, consulting and capacity building in education quality and setting up the foundations for ensuring, managing and controlling quality in education in accordance with national and international standards.
UNESCO – Regional Center seeks to disseminate and promote a culture of quality and excellence in the educational institutions in the Arab region through the provision of technical advisory research and development programs as well as contributing to supporting education in general.
