‘Abu-Ghazaleh University College for Innovation’ and AROQA Participate in “Arab Model for Quality and Excellence in Education Project” Workshop
AMMAN – Talal Abu-Ghazaleh University College for Innovation “TAGUCI” and the Arab Organization for Quality Assurance in Education “AROQA”, chaired by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, took part in the regional virtual workshop on the ‘Arab Model Project for Quality and Excellence in Education’. The workshop has been organized by the Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education - UNESCO in cooperation with the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization - ALECSO.
TAGUCI and AROQA’s participation in the workshop signifies the interest of the two parties in keeping apprised with the latest standards of quality in education. It also attests to their keenness in updating and developing the existing standards in line with the vision of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh in keeping up to date with the advancements in this field.
Dean of TAGUCI Prof. Dr. Nasser Al-Nsour and Executive Director Dr. Mushira Enezat, as well as AROQA Administrative Officer Ms. Razan Khirfan took part in the workshop.
During the event, held with the participation of a host of experts, specialized researchers, decision-makers and those concerned in the quality of education at the regional level from a number of Arab countries, participants agreed that shifting to digital learning became inevitable, especially in light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Additionally, the participants discussed various topics including the distinctive international trends in reforming education systems based on standards and benchmarks; main areas proposed for standards and indicators of quality and excellence in education in the Arab countries; and requirements for ensuring the success of implementing education quality and excellence standards in education all over the Arab region.
The participants also reviewed a number of regional and global models of quality and excellence that match the Arab culture and the status of quality in the Arab region, in addition to the challenges that the education sector is experiencing.
At the end of the workshop, the participants agreed to hold interactive sessions continuously in order to achieve a distinguished Arab model of quality and excellence in education.
