The Consortium for Sustainable Urbanization Praises Abu-Ghazaleh for his New Book “The Inevitable Digital Future”

NEW YORK - The Consortium for Sustainable Urbanization (CSU) expressed its official support by a written message addressed to HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Founder and Chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), praising his new book on Smart Cities called “The Inevitable Digital Future”.

For his part, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his gratitude to the Consortium for the gesture, saying: “The CSU was formed to promote a better understanding of the role of sustainable urbanization and resilient design in the planning of our cities, of which the smart ones are most essential. This book [he added] comes at a critical time where governments across the globe are facing great challenges in delivering equitable services to their citizens. The recent COVID pandemic is putting unprecedented strains on national resources and services. The only solution to achieve sustainable urbanization is for governments to adopt modern technology and become smart entities.”

Abu Ghazaleh went onto say: “It is indeed a great honor and privilege to have received such an important message of support from the CSU. My aim in writing the book was to shed light on important areas that governments must focus on to help initiate and build sustainable Smart Cities to better tackle ongoing pandemic challenges and better prepare for the future.”

In the book, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh discusses the technologies he sees as being essential for true Smart Cities to come about; and the lessons that can be learnt from failed Smart City initiatives. The book also provides a blueprint that can be used to develop holistic Smart Cities of the future, and it discusses a range of supportive elements from governance to citizen awareness that are essential in developing successful Smart City implementations.
