‘Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum’ Takes Part in the ‘International Entrepreneurship Symposium 2020’
AMMAN – Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAG-KF), a member of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), took part in the ‘International Virtual Entrepreneurship Symposium 2020’, that has convened under the patronage of Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, HE Mr. Ahmad Al-Hanandeh; in partnership with the University of Jordan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center and "Sindyan" Entrepreneurship & Development Organization, as part of the festivities of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2020.
The 50 sessions and workshops of the Symposium were organized in collaboration with a number of partners representing government, private and academic sectors. About 120 speakers and experts, 250 entrepreneurs and startups, as well as 100 investors, participated in the symposium.
This, first Forum’s edition, aims at creating a platform for better networking, motivating and training of young entrepreneurs in Jordan, the Middle East and North Africa.
During the opening ceremony, Al-Hanandeh underlined the importance of entrepreneurship for the academic sector and the higher education institutions in developing innovation and digital entrepreneurial skills; its role in promoting entrepreneurial capacities and the newly established Jordanian companies. He praised all efforts that strive to turn crises into an opportunities in light of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Mr. Fadi Daoud, Executive Director of TAG-KF and Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global) Education and Youth Consultant, took part in the Symposium. In addition to a large number of Jordanian participants, there were many Arab dignitaries including HRH Princess Kholoud bint Khaled bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia, Mr. Osama Al Saadawi, Minister of Entrepreneurship & Empowerment Palestine. Dr. Ashraf bani Mohammed, Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at the University of Jordan took part in the event as well.
During the first day, the Symposium included an exhibition of entrepreneurships companies, discussion sessions with business leaders, innovation training workshops, a contest for entrepreneurship projects and workshops for professionals in the innovation and entrepreneurship sector. The second day focused on business incubators and investment funds form Jordan and the region in addition to stakeholders involved in supporting and empowering local and regional entrepreneurship.
Sindyan Entrepreneurship & Development is a non-profit organization that aims at developing entrepreneurship environment. It has recently selected Mr. Fadi Daoud, Executive Director of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh knowledge Forum (TAG-KF), as its Secretary-General. Its mission is to develop various added value projects to the community in the fields of entrepreneurship, self-employment, empowerment of youth and women, environment and agriculture and innovation laboratories; as well as developing local communities through qualitative participatory projects.
