Abu-Ghazaleh Patronizes the First Virtual Meeting of National Youth Conference
AMMAN – The National Forum for Awareness and Development (NFAD) and the National Youth Conference in collaboration with Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum (TAG-KF) organized the first virtual meeting entitled ‘The Role of Youth in Making Change’ in conjunction with the International Youth Day celebrated on August 12 every year.
The meeting convened under the patronage of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, founder and Chairman of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG.Global), with the participation of many Jordanian and Arab personalities, in addition to youth and university students from different sectors, to discuss the challenges and the obstacles facing the youth, especially in the Arab region, and to recommend solutions.
During the meeting, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh called on the Jordanian youth not only to embrace new global technologies, but to lead the world. He mentioned His Majesty King Abdullah II, as the role model of innovation for the youth, the mentor and the leader at all levels; politically, humanely and intellectually.
Furthermore, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh urged the youth to take the initiative in creating and building inventions particularly in the digital businesses field, to make change without waiting for anyone’s help.
For his part, Dr. Mohamad Al-Bdour, Chairman of NFAD and the National Youth Conference, said “We strongly believe in the role of youth in making change for the better. They have a national responsibility that obliges them to contribute to the process of building, development and advancement of their country.”
Dr. Jassim Al-Mutairi, head of the Council of Senior Scholars in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, announced the launch of a joint initiative with TAG-KF for training young people on entrepreneurship and leadership, noting that he chairs the Innovation Academy that will offer various free training courses to the young Jordanian people.
HE Judge Saad Al-Majali, who participated in the meeting, called for establishing a national center for the youth with the aim of providing training courses in leadership and management, in addition to qualifying those who are distinguished politically and socially, to become the makers of changes in all aspects of life.
Mr. Fadi Daoud, Executive Director of TAG-KF, who moderated the session, gave a presentation on the International Youth Day; which was endorsed by the General Assembly of the United Nations, Resolution 54/120 to commemorate August 12 to become an annual festivity highlighting the role of the youth role as key partners in change.
