Abu-Ghazaleh and Greek Orthodox Archbishop Christophoros Discuss Cooperation
AMMAN- HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh met with HE Christophoros Atallah, Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Amman and discussed several key issues including cooperation in evaluating various issues of concern to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese especially after the COVID-19 crisis.
HE Christophoros highlighted the role of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh in supporting the Christian communities in Jordan in various fields based on the message of love he spreads through his support and vision for a better world.
“We are seeking your guidance in evaluating the organizational and institutional status and the optimal mechanism for managing the current resources of the Archdiocese in the most economical manner. It is time for the Church to depend on its resources and not on support from the community,” he said.
It is worth noting that Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global (TAG-Global) has a wide and extensive global experience in providing consulting services to governments and major institutions through its 110 offices around the world and in various key sectors and fields.
HE Christophoros also requested cooperation regarding the Greek Orthodox Center, which addresses educational issues saying: “Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh’s experience and vision in the educational sector are unmatched and his effort in developing the educational sector is truly one of a kind.”
Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh welcomed HE Christophoros’ ideas which will bring positivity to all communities especially during and after the crisis brought by the spread of COVID-19 around the world, expressing his support to all ideas through a Memorandum of Understanding which will focus on cooperation and development in the future.
He also suggested holding a seminar hosted by Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Forum, which will gather all Christian Denominations and discuss the latest development in the unity and goodwill aspects, which are the cornerstone of religion in Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II.
It is worth noting that Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh is a close friend to the Christian community and he has met the Holy Father Pope Francis in the Vatican City and launched a global initiative aiming at bringing together joint values between Islam and Christianity; his latest support for Christians in Jordan was building a knowledge station at the Melkite Greek Catholic Archbishopric Amman.
The meeting, which also tackled the role of the Council of Church Leaders and possible cooperation, was attended by HE Mr. Sami Halaseh and Fr. Gerasimos Tashman.
