To provide 100 technical job opportunities Agreement to Establish ‘Abu-Ghazaleh for Technologies’ Factory at Madaba Industrial Estate
AMMAN - Minister of Industry, Trade & Supply, HE Dr. Tareq Hamouri, patronized the signing ceremony of an agreement between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh for Technologies (TAGTech) and Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation (JIEC) in the presence of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and founder of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Global. The aim of the agreement is to establish a factory that designs and manufactures technical devices at Madaba Industrial Estate. The factory will be the first of its kind in the Arab region and will initially create one hundred job opportunities.
The agreement was signed by TAGTech Executive Director, Mr. Salah Abu Osbeh, and JIEC General Director, Mr. Omar Juwa’id. During the signing ceremony Minister Hamouri stressed the importance of establishing TAGTech factory; the first of its kind in the Kingdom and the Arab region in terms of producing high-tech smart devices, referring to the job opportunities the project will create. He also affirmed the government’s support to such investments which will positively impact local and economic development.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his commitment to serving the nation by helping boost Jordanian technological development underlining at the same time his belief in Jordan’s ‘knowledge future’ in accordance with the directions of HM King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein.
For his part, Abu Osbeh asserted that the establishment of the factory would start as soon as possible, to become the first operational technological factory at the Industrial Estate, noting that the manpower at the facility will be a role model of the Jordanian skilled and trained workers who will be given a specialized training and awarded a ‘technician trainee’ certificate.
The selection of Madaba Industrial Estate to host the factory came, according to Abu Osbeh, after conducting a series of meetings with the concerned officials at the Ministry and the JIEC who offered all required facilities to establish the factory, revealing that the factory will be established on a five-dunom plot of land that was completely purchased for the purpose of setting up the project.
Furthermore, Juwa’id welcomed the establishment of TAGTech factory at Madaba Industrial Estate which started receiving industrial investments in various fields, emphasizing that TAGTech project will contribute to creating job opportunities and boosting the industrial production at the Madaba Estate which is considered one of the most recent estates founded by the JIEC in addition to those in Al-Tafilah and As-Salt cities.
It is worth mentioning that the agreement was signed following the establishment of TAGTech firm last October with the aim of designing and manufacturing high-tech devices including laptops, tablets and smartphones at competitive and affordable prices for all. TAGTech has then chosen Madaba Industrial Estate to host the factory of its technological devices that are currently being produced in China.
