He revealed that the Department has adopted leading projects that made Jordan reach the rank of developed countries in this field, including the Electronic Applications System and the truck E-tracking System via Satellite, with the aim of facilitating the transit trade throughout the Kingdom. That is in addition to the National Single Window System project and others.

For his part, Customs Colonel, Ahmad Al Alem, explained in more detail the National Single Window project that has recently been applied enabling electronic prior clearance on transit goods once export procedures have been finalized in the exporting country. Al Alem noted that the project reduces the required time for clearance of transit goods. He added that the Department will implement this year the electronic clearance on goods at all customs centers in the Kingdom following its success at Aqaba Customs Center.

Meanwhile, Customs Colonel Mr. Jamal Al Najjar, assistant manager of the Single Window Project, also briefed the attendees on the project implementation which aims at facilitating trade and customs procedures by reducing time and efforts to service recipients.

Additionally, Customs Colonel Mr. Mousa Rasheed, Director of Tariffs and Agreements, reviewed the Department services related to the advanced classification of goods, the application of international and bilateral customs agreements as well as the role of Jordan Customs in protecting the intellectual property rights (IPRs) and preventing infringement on trademarks and copyright.

Ms. Hayja'a Abu-Hayja'a, Director of Consulting at Abu-Ghazaleh Intellectual Property (AGIP), talked about the protection of IPR rights proposing a mechanism of reporting infringement cases on any of IPRs electronically to be detected and controlled at early stages.

It is worth mentioning that Executive Director of TAG-KF, Mr. Fadi Daoud who moderated the session underscored the Forum’s objective in providing an intellectual platform for all people to express their opinions on different important issues and to submit recommendations after thorough discussions and research. At the end of the session, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh presented honorary shields to Dr. Alrahamneh and the participating speakers in recognition of Jordan Customs Department’s continuous efforts and contributions; meanwhile, Alrahamneh presented the Shield of Jordan Customs to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh in acknowledgement of his Global’s achievements.
