Abu-Ghazaleh Selected to Join IPEMED Board of Directors

PARIS- HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh has been selected to join the Board of Directors of the Mediterranean world Economic Foresight Institute (L’Institut de Prospective Economique du Monde Méditerranéen - IPEMED), an independent Euro-Mediterranean think tank that gathers high-level opinion leaders from both shores of the Mediterranean.

The Board of Directors consists of various key committees and Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh will join the Political Sponsorship Committee, a joint, advisory and non-partisan body with its main mission is to lead IPEMED’s reflection, to promote its action and to defend its ideas among the global political sphere.

The Political Sponsorship Committee is chaired by Miguel Angel Moratinos, former Spanish Minister of Foreign affairs, and by Aïcha Belarbi, former Moroccan Secretary of state in charge of cooperation and gathers once a year in order to discuss the challenges and issues involving both shores of the Mediterranean. It also seeks to establish a relationship based on friendship, trust and mutual respect enabling great freedom of speech.

IPEMED works in energy, health, agriculture and agro-food industry, tourism, transport and water in addition to other fields.

"The diversity of projects in the heart of IPEMED makes it the perfect environment to share and contribute and I am honored to join IPEMED and its high level expertise and contribute my long experience in various fields to the objectives of this wonderful think-tank," Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said.

"The Verticale "Africa - Mediterranean - Europe" is one of the work programs of the IPEMED and the idea that the creation of a large region "Africa – Mediterranean – Europe" is a realistic prospect has been a focus and an effort and it is very interesting to visualize the connexion of Africa and Europe by economy as part of future history," he added.

La Verticale, an international foundation that seeks to integrate the two continents: Africa and Europe via the Mediterranean space and IPEMED aim to focus on Europe to share its technology and knowhow with the African countries and create a prosperous life for the people in Africa in their own countries and curb the immigration process.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh and his Organization have more than 110 offices around the world working in various fields and headed by a unique focus on technological and educational development.
