Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Library Inaugurated at Ohod Elementary School for Girls

AMMAN - HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh patronized the celebration ceremony of the Accession of HM King Abdullah II to the Throne, the Great Arab Revolt and the Army Day at Ohod Elementary School for Girls in Marka district.

The ceremony was attended by Ms. Intesar Abu-Shari'a, director of the Marka District Education Directorate, Dr. Hisham Al-Qawasmeh, Cultural Activities manager, Dr. Wadha Al-Muhareb, Educational and Technical Affairs manager, Mr. Maimouna Al-Khateeb, director of Educational Resources Division, Eng. Abdel Karim Al-Oboos and Mahmoud Abu-Jassar directors of Educational Development Council.

During the ceremony,  the inauguration of the “Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Library” was held by Dr. Abu Ghazaleh who fully supplied the library with all its publications, books and computers as a part of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization’s (TAG-Org) efforts in promoting reading culture among students and providing the Kingdom's less-fortunate schools with information technology tools which to enable and motivate them to enjoy reading and digital learning.

In his speech at the ceremony, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh asserted the importance of investing in children especially in their early grades, adding that reading enhances thinking and research skills.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh pointed out that the knowledge era requires everyone to keep up with the rapid and huge development in information technology noting that TAG-Org has taken on the responsibility of overseeing the development process handled by the Ministry of Education, due to its strong belief in the importance of education towards developing future generations and community services.

For her part, Abu-sharia praised the efforts of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization in supporting Ohod Elementary School for Girls in particular and schools of the Marka District in general, stressing the importance of such partnerships with the private sector. She also expressed her pride at TAG-Org’s initiatives represented by HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh’s own efforts and his continuous support to the educational sector in Jordan with the aim of boosting the educational process to achieve the required reformation.

Meanwhile, Ohod Elementary School for Girls Headmistress Ms. Ikhlas Hijawi extended her gratitude to Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh for establishing the Library and for his constant support to schools and the educational process in the Kingdom. She asserted the importance of reading in for intellectual development and expressed her appreciation for the support offered by the Directorate of Education for all School’s activities.

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh received an honorary shield in recognition of his efforts. Moreover, the “Talal Ibn Adeebah” story, written by author Areej Younis, was distributed to all students. Talal Ibn Adeebah chronicles the story of Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh from his childhood during which he was forced to leave his homeland to the achievement of great success. The story presents lessons for success against obstacles and challenges faced by the Palestinians and demonstrates how to achieve glory despite suffering.

It is noteworthy to mention that Talal Ibn Adeebah received Ministry of Education approval to be available and displayed at all public and private school libraries, since it serves as an educational tool incorporating positive values and messages for children.
