Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Academy and the Arab Commission for Satellite Broadcasting Sign Cooperation Agreement for Media Training

AMMAN – Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Academy and the Arab Commission for Satellite Broadcasting (ACSB) signed a cooperation agreement in the fields of media and information and communication technology. According to the agreement, the two parties will cooperate in providing media training to youth seeking a role in the media industry and media staff in Arab countries.

During the signing ceremony held at Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) General Administration Building, HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh stressed the importance of media and its significant role in shaping public opinion and investment noting that TAG-Org gives much attention to media throughout its businesses in Jordan and its more than 100 global offices.

For his part, ACSB President Mr. Mohamad Al-Adailah affirmed that the aim of the agreement is capacity development in the Arab media sector and other supporting areas through the provision of qualification and training to maintain and advance levels of professionalism and journalistic performance based on freedom and responsibility, excellence and creativity. “Through this agreement, we seek to introduce policies and implement programs for the specialized training process so that opportunities of continued training and qualifications will be available for workers in the Arab media industry in the member Arab states,” he said.

The agreement stipulates cooperation in holding specialized media training courses by the Academy and developing a media training diploma in this field by specialized trainers affiliated with the Commission.

Moreover, the two parties agreed that the diploma would concentrate on practical aspects in addition to theoretical ones noting the availability of training halls and high-tech modern studios providing the latest and most advanced equipment in the field. The media diploma will consequently support the sector by producing the required skilled and qualified staff.
