The Jordanian Senate President patronizes the Issue of "Alrai book… From Suffering to Universality” on Talal Abu Ghazaleh

AMMAN - Under the patronage of Senate president Faisal Al Faiez, “Al Rai” Center for Studies hosted a promulgation ceremony of "Talal Abu Ghazaleh’s book...From Suffering to Universality”, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh.

The event was attended by Mr. Ramadan Al Rawashdeh, President of the Jordanian Press Corporation “Al Rai”, President of “Al Rai” for Studies, Dr. Khaled Al Shaqran, the book author, Mr. Jafar Al Aqili and a number of current and former officials, writers, academics and media persons.

During the event, Al Faiez stressed the importance of the book which narrates the autobiography of Talal Abu Ghazaleh’s life course, full of challenges, success and generosity, adding that Abu Ghazaleh represents a significant character who has lived  through the joys and miseries of our Arab Nation, especially Palestine’s catastrophe, by which he has been greatly affected.  Through determination and challenge, he managed to become a world famous icon that has had a remarkable impact on a number of sectors through his group TAG- Org.

Al Faiez continued: “We, as we talk about Talal Abu Ghazaleh, we speak about a self-built man who emerged from suffering with all its details, indicating that Talal Abu Ghazaleh is a man who has never lived with frustration of defeatism; he managed to cross a difficult road with determination, managed to make achievements in every phase of his life.”

He made it clear that this book illustrates a genuine success story based on true facts, as Talal Abu Ghazaleh gained strength from weakness, success from nil, and believed that success is the fruit of struggle and assiduous work.

Al Faiez said: “Unfortunately, our Arab Nation is passing through weakness and division.  Under such difficult conditions, there is a need for inspirational persons like Talal Abu Ghazaleh, to revive hope for the youth and stimulate them to believe that willingness and strength can make miracles.”

Dr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh noted that his life course can be summarized in two words: “suffering grace”, recalling his experience working at a music shop, which motivated him to study music after he became fond of it.

Abu Gazaleh talked about the knowledge era, specifying that knowledge in the future will be for innovation, as “we move from the civilian to innovative state which will be run by innovation; all people in this state should be innovative”, stressing that the curricula for schools and universities should lead to innovation and motivation. "We teach university students to become educated and knowledgeable, and to be suitable for the labour market, however, there is no longer any such thing as the labour market or educated and knowledgeable students; but there are innovators”. He added: “We, in Jordan I am proud to say have started doing this; I am annually sponsoring innovative students and inventors of whom there are so many with wonderful inventions."

He also said: “The US can decide what it wants, but this will not change the fact that Jerusalem is ours, this will not change that Palestine is ours, with every part of it. History and geography facts remain and can’t be changed by Trump’s decision,” stressing: “I want our national conscience and collective sentiments to refuse this, instead of suffering, protesting, refuting and objecting. I don’t care what Trump decides, he doesn’t represent international legitimacy, or an authority that decides world’s history and people’s fate… he is a president of a state for which it is unfortunate that he takes individual decisions, without recalling the values that America was built on and lived with institutional work.”

For his part, Ramadan Al Rawashdeh, Al Rai Head of Board, underscored the role and the respected status which “Al Rai” paper as well as “Al Rai” Center for Studies occupies among elites and ordinary people, noting that “ Al Rai” was established by martyr Wasfi Al Tal, whose 46th martyrdom date was marked a few days ago. He wanted the paper to be national as he was an Arab nationalist.

Al Rawashdeh said that the book comes as the “fruit of work and efforts exerted by the colleague Jafar Al Aqili and colleagues at Al Rai Center, as part of the Center’s ongoing work, in addition to the seminars that it organizes to acquaint readers with local, regional and world issues.”

Head of Studies Center, Dr. Khaled Al Shaqran noted that the Center has always sought to collaborate with icons, thinkers and opinion leaders who have left an impact on their communities in the region and surrounding areas, stressing that this issue is special as it talks about an exemplary businessman, Dr. Talal Abu Ghazaleh who began his life with displacement and suffering, to become a highly successful and innovative man. He is one of the world's top 100 accounting persons and a leader and pioneer in the field of accounting, the first person to talk about intellectual property and defend its rights in the Arab World and Worldwide.

He has also advocated the reconnaissance concept in Arab communities; he is one of the leading icons whose “global citizen” concept  applies to him and a man who has a clear effect on endorsing ideas on vocational and technical education and making use of this technology to create innovation amongst the youth.

For his part, author Jafar Al Aqili said: “When the idea of writing this book emanated, I did not know that I would move forward in exploring an exceptional truly inspiring experiment; its protagonist is a man whom I know about like  many others do. His reputation precedes him without knowing him in person. After I got to know him closely and be inspired by his personality, it was very important for me to reach deeper levels, as research work eventually leads to discover sources of inspiration and excellence, examining exceptional capabilities that a personality enjoys, like Talal Abu Ghazaleh’s character since his childhood, which prepared him to be what he is today."

Al Aqili noted that “whoever reads this book, which I wanted to be an exceptional autobiography and an innovative script at the same time, will recognize that Talal Abu Ghazaleh, the sincere Arab model did not divert his attention from his country and nation’s issues, especially in the fields of improving and developing education, as it is the basis of building a generation that is capable of taking responsibility and leading the country to an aspiring future. The reader will discover that Dr.Talal Abu Ghazaleh has dedicated his life for the general work, continued giving, to become a school of slogans and deeds,” adding: “I have sought in the book that accumulates more than one year effort, to trace the main stop-overs at the stations of his journey of experiment, that are likely to be a source of inspiration for generations to come that always need an example, or a compass that will lead them to righteous roads and avoid mishaps and pitfalls.”
